Repower

Presently I have a 1987 200H.P. Yamaha on my 23" CC. Planning on repowering this spring. Any suggestions/recommendations.

I went with a 2003 Yamaha 250 oX66 last year, still under the factory warrantee and have been very happy. The boat jumps out of the hole and even though I'm burning 20% more fuel than a 4 stroke, the purchase price was half of what I would of paid for the 4 stroke. You get to keep the same gauges and binicle. All you may need to add is a new prop. Good luck Rich

You will like the boat so much better with 250+ HP, any of the motors are good the last few yrs so find a 250 somewhere.

jfm-

I bought a 2003 225hp Evinrude from Marty at Ship SHops in South Yarmouth. It was really the only engine I considered for my 23. I looked strongly at weight, I wanted the lightest engine to hang on the back of it and Bombardier has perffectd the dfi engines. I also got 7 years of warranty and the price couldn't be beat.

Drop me a PM if you want more info, I'm on the Cape also...
