17' Mako
 

Looking at buying a late 70's running/fishing 17' mako to use this season so I can start the overhaul on my 23cc transom, hatch covers, console and complete paint.

I thought I could do my projest + do some fishing so I kept a 18 footer while doing mine. It ended up just collecting dust and not going out for a year. I didn’t have the TIME to do both plus I only have a one track mind.

i could only find marine plywood in houston. Do you happen to know some supplier of composite material such as kledgecell, etc. thanks

I can see where that could become a problem but we have been having some extremely windy days but I decided to go fishing anyway and I anchored down in some 4-6's and ripped off a bow cleat well I said were already here and I have another cleat well cleat # 2 and the bow light only lasted 20 min's. so I will have to remove the cap to fix that correctly and the transom needs work to so I really don't have much choice, I would hate to be the guy that knew it needed fixin but decided to go fishin and watch it fall apart.

I have a friend at peir 77 in galveston I know they have some composite material there but you should be able to find every thing you need in the Clearlake area Boaters world, Boat US etc. there's a boat store on every corner around the lake and they all give away a little boaters yellow pages phone book that comes in really handy when serching for those hard to find items. Take a trip down to Kemah check out the boardwalk and stop at boat us F.M. 270 between Nasa 1 and F.M. 518. Good luck
