SeaCraft Membership Overview - Who Lives Where

All,

I looked at the top 200 active CSC members to see who lived in what state. I may be off a little, but here is a summary.

FLorida being ranked number one did not surprise me. What did surprise me was the number of New England Yankees (Mass. in particular).

Any comments?

Peter

Peter,
That is one thing I had been meaning to do for a long time, so thanks for doing it . Being from MA myself, I'm not surprised at our ranking. Up until the early/mid 80s, MA used to have 2 of the largest SeaCraft dealers in the country - Sunset Marine in Hull and Stage Harbor Marine in Chatham. Take a ride to Chatham and you'll definitely see why we rank #2 on your list.

Speaking of Sunset Marine - until my father bought his '82 Sceptre in November '97, it had never left Hull where it was originally purchased from Sunset Marine. The guy that owned the storage yard where my father bought it used to work for Sunset and knew all about the boat.

The number of seacrafts on cape cod could make Ma. #1. I'll have to keep spreading the CSC word. We'll be #1 next year.

The biggest differance between Florida and here a couple of years ago was the price of boats down there was about Half of what they where up here, now I think that the southern prices are catching up cuase people will travel to get them. I know a couple of people up here that bought them new and have had them all these years, and will never part with them either!

thanx for putting the info up !!! I am not surprised either but if I was guessing , i would probably have had mass first followed by florida, lol. I also thought va would have had many more than 10. (now that fiasco owns my paycheck then maybe we should jump to 11,lol) :D

Michigan takes pride as being the state with the most pleasure boats (so they say); I wonder why there aren't more SC owners/CSCmembers from the Great Lakes Midwest states? - aaf

Boating magazine reported that Florida slightly edged out Michigan last year on registered pleasure boats but I don't think it will last long. I can see why the NE has the SE beat when it comes to SC boats!

Miles Offshore:

Fiasco now has 2 SCs. In addition to Her Paycheck, I picked up a Safari project. Gave it to an E-7 as his first boat. That makes 2 more in Va.
