WOW! Only a matter of time before someone did it. Tell us all about the process.

Re: Project Boat !!!!!

The hardest part was getting the old boat fair enough. The bulkhead located at the helm caused the most problems. This hull utilizes 1708 cloth, matt, and coremat in Polyester resin with a Vinylester resin barrier coat. The sides (above the chine) are cored with 1/2" PVC foam (divinycell) while the stringers are cored with divinycell and the transom with Coosa Bluewater 26. In the end you get the great mosley hullform built with modern materials and construction methods. I think it's superior to the current Seacrafts! Simple and solid!

This hull is being finished as a center console... I am working on a seafari style cuddy with a closed transom and a hermco bracket for myself.

All it takes is time and money and more time and more money.... oh did i say money?

How many hours of Prep work did that take to fair the boat?
Are you going to make another mold before you finish the project?

Re: Project Boat !!!!!

Hours: too many to count. I could figure it out, but I don't think I want to know.

Mold: A mold for the topsides? It depends on whether or not I have the stomach for it. Before I attach the topsides to the hull I will have to make a tough call. I can't worry about it right now I have a lot of work to do. If anyone has a donor seafari I would make a mold off of that topside. It would still be usable afterwards. I was tempted to buy otto's seafari for that purpose but I don't have the time or resources to go get it. I don't want to make this a business. I really just wanted a boat for myself... go figure.

days ago is was only about $75.00. It was in Pennsylvania.
Darn-it !! Good luck, It looks great.
See ya, Ken
