e-Tech 300HP motor
 

Saw this picture on another forum. Someone took this picture in the Bahamas. Rumor at the Miami Boat Show this year was that Evinrude was coming out with a 300HP-325HP eTech motor. Could this picture be a set of new test motors or are we being duped with fake decals :D

They look right, and they have to test them somewhere :D I am sure your not surprised but my dealer friend mentioned that the ETEC injection system can be run at higher pressures to get more HP from the same CU. If you want one let me know, he also has a 225 and 250 both new w/7yr warrenty both are DI motors that have the pre ETEC injection thats how it came up.

Just talked to a friend of mine that is an E-tec dealer - Showed him the pic and he stated "that is the old Mercury trick" - according to him they are testing a 305hp motor...

Think I am going to add a zero to my 250 yam and have a 2500HP.. :cool:

After our boat ride this spring horsepower is definatly something you need more of!! Do you think that bracket would hold twins?
You are going to make me start hot rodding the Verado to keep up.I have already found a 275 computer,lets see more boost 300hp shouldn't be that difficult.

I hear the E-Tech can reach 85HP per cylinder :eek:

Donnie, I toyed with that idea and I decided on the single setup. I would have to sell YOU my Potter Bracket and then snag Finster's twin bracket. As it appears his will never see the ass end of that SeaVette http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/ae...smiley-018.gif

if you only knew how much bracket trouble I am in....
I am getting ready to order my 2nd one from Mike at Wildfire,the one the local shop ordered has a small airbox and I asked them to take it off last week.
Mike and Jim over at BOE have been wonderful to work with,I have been down twice to see Mike and pick up parts...
I will have this thing done one of these days.

Im getting ready to hang a bracket on my 23. do you guys think that a single 250 Yamaha 2-stroke is under-powering the hull.

No. How many seacrafts do you see out there with 275's and 300's? Most have either a 225 or a 250. I have a 250 2 stroke yamaha and when it's running right (which is seldom is these days) :mad: I can hit mid 40's WOT. I'm looking to repower with a new 250 4 stroke any minute now...just trying to decide if I want to stay with yamaha or move to suzuki.

I have a 250 2 stroke on my 23 and I'm very pleased. Same top end as Strick. It has a great hole shot and cruises at 26 full load.

Use caution on the 300hp.I know of 2 of them that blew up at around 20hrs.The 250hp is a great motor.The 300hp from what I understand is having cylinder bore troubles because they changed the way they hone them.Has anyone heard of any failure on the 250hp and what was it?I have search the internet an have not found one, and from what I heard they have had zero failures in the field. :rolleyes:
