SeaBird 25' Question

Hey, Guys: I have looked at 2 different 25' SeaBirds ( they look like the Seafari) in the last week. Both early '70s. One was a basket case and the other was pretty nice looking.. My question is that when standing on the bow, or even when pushing up at it when the boat is blocked, both boats seem to have excessive "wiggle" to them. The first boat I chalked up to rotted stringers or something like that, but the second boat was rather nice, although it wiggled every bit as much. Any ideas what is going on?- Is this a common trait among these boats?
Thanks-Doug

Re: SeaBird 25' Question

Doug,
You might also want to post your question over at the Seabird site. I have a '72 23-foot CC (they didn't make a 25-footer but called them V-24s). These boats don't have a traditional stringer system, the hull liner provides strength & rigidity to the hull. My guess is that both boats you looked at have bad liners (most of the decks were balsa-cored).

Ditto on that Scott,
I'am flattered that guys look to this site for advice
on there re-do's on other makes, buttt-- this is
"Classic SeaCraft". Some of us on this site own all different makes and models ,which is great. Although we keep that info to a minimum.
See ya, Ken
