Transome crown 20 SF
Question for the brain trust!
In some of the pic's/post it looks like the transomes on the 20's have some crown in them (maybe 1") and in other pic's/post it looks like the transome is flat, does anyone know which is correct? |
Re: Transome crown 20 SF
some of us have had them modified from their original condition, that's the beauty of customizing things :D

Re: Transome crown 20 SF
The center of mine is 1 1/2in taller for the camber.
This is shorter than the camber on Strick's. It's a personal thing, but I like the camber on mine better. keeping in mind it's easy to walk on. Mine http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...5/P1010006.jpg Strick's http://www.casdvm.com/photos/SeaCraf...ng%20shape.jpg But again it's more of a personal thing. :D |
Re: Transome crown 20 SF
Let me refraise, I am speaking of crown/camber from corner to corner across the back. not so much from side to side across the top. I think across the top looks better with some crown personally.

Re: Transome crown 20 SF
I have a 71 20sf that I just replaced the transom in, and mine was perfectly flat. I don't recall seeing any that have shape across the transom unless they were rotten.
