Scupper renewal

I have a '74 23' cc, it still has the orginal brass scupper tubes between the deck and the hull. What's the best repair for these and where do you get them? Thanks in advance.

Hey, catspaw - Welcome to CSC !

If you're looking to replace them with brass tubes, 1" size, I've seen a number of references to Boston Whaler using the same tubes, and better BW dealers having them available as replacement parts. The thru deck scupper tubes are much longer than the typical 3" transom drain tubes you will find at most boat shops.

The brass tubing can be ordered from McMaster Carr for cheap (old Whaler fix)!! The brass tubing must be annealed before "flanging". Heat it cherry red and quench in water to anneal (or soften). If it were my SeaCraft, I would want the deck to drain out the transom. IMHO, that was the reason the boats got the bad name of "sinkcraft".......the tube and/or hose failed.
