20\" or 25\" shaft for 20ft w/bracket

Here are a few pics of 25" shaft motors on 20sf's. The engines appear to be jacked up high. Do you guys think a 20" shaft motor would be better suited for a 20 footer with a bracket.

Bigshrimpin, I'm not an expert on performance, but my experiences with brackets on small boats has told me to keep the powerhead as high above the water as possible. I do agree that they look a little funny however i think that they stay drier. I know that you are in the process of building your own bracket, is that going to be a flotation bracket? If so maybe it will keep the stern up high enough so that it will not be an issue.

What size Suzuki is that on the B-Bracket? And is it a 25" shaft? - Thanks for info. - aaf

That's a DF-140. You can tell by the Spoiler on the top/aft of the cowl.
