Wanted for Rebuild 23' CC Inboard

Recently I completed a total rebuild of my 1970 20' cc and I'm getting the itch to upgrade to a 23'. Can anyone share with me their thoughts on the pros and cons to a 23' CC Inboard? Do you know anyone who has a "project condition" for sale?

I have the pleasure to fish KModi's regularly. Spectacular boat. Super stable, tons of fishing room, good acces to the drive line, very simple and inexpensive to work on (sbc 350). All and all a pocket battle wagon that runs as well off shore as it does on I-95. If you find a couple let me know...

The pros are a nice cleaning fishing area with no outboards or I/O in the way. A simple straight forward reliable power/propulsion system. Great sea keeping charactistics, dry, and keeps on plane at low speeds say 13 Knots plus. Nice clean wake for trolling. Unique in the fact that you won't see 20 other boats like it everytime you go fishing.

Unforunately every boat is give & take. You loose storage in the center console because of course that's where the engine is. You can't go in shallow water like an outboard or I/O and she doesn't manuever anything like them either. You have to learn how they walk in reverse, I personally enjoy the docking challange and don't see it as a minus, but other cerntainly do. They are not fast, they are 20-24 Knot cruise boats.

Riprunner brought up the points that I'm willing to gloss over but he's entirely right. The biggest draw back is NO low speed manuverability. You can walk the boat sideways with a lot of throttle but that's about it.

Since docking maneuverability and speed are high priorities, I believe I’m going with the more common setup of out boards. Thanks for the insight…you guys have saved me many hours of debate.
