23 Rubrail Suggestions...?

I am in the process of trying to decide on a Rubrail for a 23. I like the look of the black semi rigid vinyl, with the stainless insert but would appreciate some suggestions from those who were in my shoes. :D

Go with what you like.
There is no rule of thumb on this.
I like the SS look myself.
See ya, Ken

the semi rigid is hard to keep in a straight line, it can be done but its not easy. The rigid is harder to put on, but it looks better

Heres what I did.

http://www.classicseacraft.com/forum...3&Number=19193

Taco Marine listed as flexible and the part # is V119696 and the ss insert part # is S114510.

It's a PIA to put on but they sure look nice.

Yep, I'll keep my eye on this thread too, I'd like to knock out that project by Spring too. Strick, I know this stuff is pricey from Taco, but how bad is it, I have a 23 also and I'd like to plan for the costs.

Thanks, Hoop

don't even try it by yourself, i did and was less than satified with the results, get at least one helper, prefered two when you install it

I think this may be one I'll leave to the pros, the guys at my marina should be able to handle this one better than I...

Re: 23 Rubrail Suggestions...?

I ended up ordering the V21-9613 It is 1 9/16" tall rigid black vinyl with the s11 4510 stainless insert. Total costr was just a hair over $320 plus two boxes of stainless screws. My girl friend and I installed it within 2 hours and it looks great. A hairdryer worked perfectly for making all the tight bends and the seams match up and it looks good. Shipping would kill you on this as it comes in 20' sections, and it is rigid. I was lucky and found a distributor that had it in stock. What sucks is I found out today I need a new transom and am going to have the entire transom closed off as the boat has a bracket. Anyone want to make some money doing a transom in PAsco Florida? :)
