Four Engine Theory

What is your # of motors you currently own, condition of said motor(s), and best story about your current or past motors.

Here are my current motors:
1991 130 yamaha 2 str-won't die
2 225 1996 merc 3 liters 2str-2002 powerheads
1 1/2 8hp Yamahas 2 str-one is a long shaft the other is extra short (missing the lower unit)

Best story is 2 yrs ago when one of the 8 hps fell off my boat while towing on I-75 going around 70mph.(kicker bracket came apart and the motor was dragging on the pavement)

Ok

I have twin 1998 150 Yamaha's, 1998 Merc Mariner 15 HP and & 1991 9.9 HP Johnson.

My saddest story is when i blew up a 1992 150 HP Johnson in Barnegat Bay (because eel grass clogged up the engine).

A close second was when my current twin Yamaha's went for a a salt water bath.

The uptick here is that my friendly mechanic had them both running a 1/2 hour after I pulled the boat and dropped them off.

1989 225hp on my Seacraft.
2003 130hp Yamaha on my flats boat.
240hp Continental air cooled ground power unit on the airboat.
2 50lb trolling motors on the flats boat does that count?

Peter, That pic makes me cringe every time I see it!!

Last was Yam. 225 OX66, 660+ hrs. without a hiccup
Present, Yam. 250 OX66, a few months and good so far
'96 25 Johnson, great motor, probably 1500+ hrs.

does the wife's 3.5L 280hp Infinity count....:)

Re: Four Engine Theory

Anybody got more than six?

(1) 1988 w/02 powerhead Johnson 225hp on my 23' Tsunami
(2) 1994 reman in 02 Merc 150/175hp on my 20' Seafari
(3) 2006 Merc 90hp Opti on my '94 Carolina Skiff
(4) 1984 Suzuki 2hp kicker on the Carolina Skiff
(5) 1986 Mariner 115 w/ jet pump, (2 bad cyls) used to be on the Skiff.
(6) 1977 Mercury 115, runs, but needs reeds and electrical work, (given to me)

Lets' see, I think that's six motors for three boats, and none of them twin setups. :D
