Other than Hermco, who makes OB brackets with positive flotation?

I'm thinking about putting a bracket on the back of my '72 Seafari, mostly because the 20" transom needs to be higher, and if I'm gonna do that, then I'm gonna replace the transom again. (Previous owner replaced the wood in '86) And if I'm gonna replace the transom again, I'm gonna put a flotation bracket on her. And if I'm gonna put a flotation bracket on her, then I'm gonna put on one for a extra-long shaft motor. If I'm gonna put one on for an extra long shaft motor, I'm gonna have a dive platform with it. If I'm gonna...

Pay close attention to the shape of the tub. Some have more flotation than other's and Hemco actually a Seamark Marine Product is at the top in that department.

I think Dusky will sell you one as well. If your gonna buy then the Seamark is the way to go. Look at Hermco's gallery they have a white seafari that they did. Looks sharp.

Another thought Father....If you want to take me fishing for 2 weeks all expences paid ...5 star hotel for Tarpon, Sailfish, Bone fish and permit then I'll make you one. Just kidding of course. :D

SeaMount Mattson made a bracket for my 23'. Nice welds but don't let them powder coat it. Get it awlgripped. If you go this route pm me.

Padre - funny, I've been having the same thoughts... don't like that 20" transom cutout... brackets.. flotation vs weight, set back stress...

I've been thinking along the lines of a wider deal, almost like grafting a euro-transom onto the back... maybe convert this thing into the first 21 - 22ft Seafari... don't know if flush to the hull wetted surface, or a step like in the Edgewater - that's an interesting thought, too... more research on brackets, hull shape, and performance characteristics - that shape, I think, would be easier to do, add a tremendous amount of flotation, could easily be super strong...

Another thing I've thought of doing is installing a Sword Marine JetPac diesel jet. JetPac photos
The 150hp model is rated as propulsion hp, is actually positively bouyant over it's own weight (150 lbs positive). The drawback is the cost. I understand $18K installed with all gauges and controls. The 200hp model is supposed to be about $20K.
Durability is good. I understand the US Coast guard is currently evaluating these for use in small RIB tenders because of the short engine life they get from outboards with young coasties at the throttle. Whether they buy them or not remains to be seen. The JetPac is a factory option from Key West boats on their 19 & 22 center consoles.
I do know that the JetPac diesel won the NMMA 2003 Innovation Award for engine and propulsion systems.
I'm not sure I'm ready to pay the cost, however.

I have heard a lot of diffrent negative feedback about putting a bracket on a 20' boat regarding ride and anchoring situations how about raising the transome 30" cant be worse than a bracket, Just a thought? I've only raised them up to 25" before never 30" you might have to put an extra gusset or two to brace the transome but it should work.

Gause Built in tarpon springs makes both a twin or single positive floatation fiberglass bracket.I have the twin bracket on my 23 sceptre.

Gause doesn't have it on their website....can you post some pics of that one.....it's one I haven't seen.
