Friend of Finster's & Don Battin

On Saturday I was playing with my new boat by the ramp at Barnegat Light. This old timer pulled up and started hitting me with tons of questions about the boat.

His name is Alan Thomas. He said that he is a member here and knows both Chris and Don. Back in the day Alan says that he sold more Potter built SeaCrafts than anyon else in Southern NJ. He stopped being a distributor when Johnny Morris drove SeaCraft into the ground.

Nice guy (Alan not Johnny). I tried showing him the twin 200 Yamahas on the bracket. He did not care one iota. He was all about the boat, particularly the closed transom and deck.

Yeah.. I know Alan, I buy all my pipe from his current employer. Yeah he was the biggest Sea Craft dealer in Jersey and I think the east coast. If you have a Jersey sold Sea Craft chances are he sold it. Alan is a good guy.

That's pretty funny. It's a small world.

Did he happen to mention that he hates Don? :D

Don,

Alan was going on about how in the LBI area there are some fabricators. When I told him that I knew you, he said "well, if you know Donny, than you are in the best possible hands".

He was a walking bill board for you. It's nice to have friends.

When I mentioned that I also know Chris he said something like "well one of out two ain't bad".

Joe,
Let me know when in A.C. I drive my parents up to A.C. since my Dad has ALTHMIERS (?) a few times a month my Aunt lives in A.C. on Bartram and the bay, what a view she has, she worked at the old convetion hall (Sect for the director) for years and before was a choprene (?) for Miss America winners (Lee Meriweathewr still stops by at Pagent time. I spent many day's on the water in a sneak box boat. Actully worked at Dorsort Avenue Marine many years ago. By the east of the Dorsort Bridge is 20' Seacraft for sale on the right side leaving Ventor and going over the bridge, never stoped and looked at it but looks like a earily model.
