Re: Off the Montauk/Coxes Ledge for COD

Left the dock at 4am yesterday. We started fishing at around 6am in 140 feet of water. Spent most of the day south east of block island trying various spots.

Three of us caught about 12 keeper COD (to about 10 pounds), 10 ling & many, and many monster 3 to 4 pound bergalls (aka ocean pearch). Clam was the bait of choice. We drifted and anchored up.

The captain said that he has been seeing better fishing, but it was still nice to be out on the water. The ocean was like a lake. Out at the ledge most of the other boats were from R.I.
