New Emblems Mounted-Thanks again Carla!!
I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to do it!!! I removed the painted logo's and SC emblem with the usual q-tips and acetone, rubbing compound and lots of elbow grease....It works well after 6-7 hours. I chose 1/8" 316 SS rivets, we'll see how they hold up. I drilled the emblems to .128" (#30) and chamfered the top side to allow the rivet to sit flush. We can't have our rivets sticking out now can we??!!

You win the prize for the first mounted emblem. Where can one pick up a small quantity of ss rivets? First few places I looked only wanted to sell be a box of 500. Dink

Reelescape1... Wow, they look great on your boat! Thanks for sharing..

Re: New Emblems Mounted-Thanks again Carla!!
I had some left from another job. I would have prefered to thru-bolt them but it really wont work in that position without butchering the liner.

Nice retro look.
I think West Marine also sells individual rivets in the bins. |

Nice Looking !!
Anyone have a decent source for thin teak ? I'm thinking of mounting the emblem onto a teak board, then mounting that onto the outside, just below the side windows, on my Seafari. Probably looking for 2 pcs of teak, say 4" by 12", maybe 1/4 - 3/8 - 1/2 in thick ?? any help on teak source appreciated !! Bill |
Re: New Emblems Mounted-Thanks again Carla!!
West Marine has the thin teak strips. 4" high might be too much to fit below the windows and above the deck of a 20' Seafari.

Padre - Thanks ! that was a rough guess estimate on the size, I think perhaps 3 x 10-12 is more like it, but there is plenty of room under the side windows.
