warning light

Hi, Did somebody change the overheat buzzer for a red light? I have a yamaha saltwater 200 and need to make the change. How it works?

No problem. Just buy a waterproof in-dash 12v LED from Radio Shack, and connect to the two wires from your warning horn. Best if you ADD the LED and not replace the horn. Just wire in parallel to the warning horn.

Just note that LEDs aren't like light bulbs....there is a + and a - lead....just get those right and you're good to go. I need to do that myself.....the high pitched tones used on those damn buzzers is really hard for me to hear.

If you want to make an LED light, add a 330 ohm resistor in line for 12 volt there is a flat side on all LED's the resistor should be on the flat side lead. (positive side) Use solder and heat shrink to cover the resistor. When I built my dash for the 20SF, I used all LED's for indicator lights.
