To Bracket or not to Bracket?
 

I would like to see some opinions on people who have brackets (especially on 23 Sceptres) I would like to know about ride changes and speed...ect.
I am considering because my transom is getting a little soft and I would like to glass in a full transom. Also I am hoping it will push more weight aft as the boat drains forward on the mooring.
Please, any info is welcomed.

I had twin 150's on my old 23 SF Secaraft. TGey were directly mounted on the transom. I always vowed to get a bracket setup one day. The primary reason was that I wanted more room in the back.

My current setup has twin 200's on a full flotation bracket. It does give you more room in the stern and definately adds weight.

My guess is that if you do this to your boat that you will have to slide the axles on your trailer back.

Full transom and bracket all the way I have twin 250's on a floatation bracket on my sceptre and it is still self bailing.

low 60's but she has a big top that makes things intresting.

The nice thing about the addition of a bracket is that you can design one with the main body as large as possible, without interfering with trim tabs, etc., that will give quite a bit of positive static flotation. This makes these old gals self-bailing if your in a border-line self-bailing situation.
