reading the serial ## on boat.

I'm new to the forum, but not to seacraft. As time allows I'll build my profile , post pics etc., but for now I wonder how to read my serial## on the back of my 20' CC. Oh yeah, it's a seacraft! here goes: SECF0273M73K. Does this have meaning like a car build number?

Re: reading the serial ## on boat.

Yes it does. Once you decode it you should know which SeaCraft company built it, the make/model, the hull number for the make & model, and the month and year that it was built.

Is it posted on the net somewhere?

Re: reading the serial ## on boat.

Example:

SEC = SeaCraft
F3 = Superfish 23'
007 = Hull number
07 = July
78 = 1978

The hull id will vary per manufactures. Do a search as this topic has been covered over and over and over again. BTW Welcome to the site :)
