i should have the boat in the water next weekend, i just had to clean (powerwash) the whole boat, rebuild the carbs and ditch all the nonsence on the merc thats un-needed.
ive herd of problems with the scuppers, that when there are people in the back of the boat it will actually wash water into the cockpit area.. is this true? thanks again |

just put plugs in or better yet, get the Rabud scupper covers that have the balls in them that keep water from flowing back in. That is a SeaCraft standard upgrade.

John,
Do you have a source for those scupper covers. I need some. Thanks, Greg |

Here is a link and picture.
http://www.rabud.com/SeaScupper_Thru...s_Release2.htm I think I got mine at west marine, but I don't remember. I have had them for a couple of years, with no problems. One thing I did do, was to put stainless screen on the front of the drains to keep crud from clogging them up. http://www.rabud.com/seascupper.jpg |

Make sure when you get them they are Rabud, there are cheaper versions out there. Mine are below the water line and still get the water out even after a heavy rain at the dock... My 20SF just spent 10 days in the water in the Keys.
I should say above the water :D THEY WORK!!! See ya, Ken |

Ya, My boat has history with the scuppers. I believe it sank & one time because of a leak from the deck drain to the bilge. Water would come in from the transom and fill on the deck, then seep into the bilge. First thing I saw when the boat went into the water. I have plugged them ever since.
Cheers, Greg |

i just put the boat in the water and i see im going to have to plug the tru-hulls. i actually just changed the scuppers and tru-hulls in the liner to 2".. those little self bailers with the ball in them look pretty good, i'll have to see what i can make fit.

TH marine makes some that you can unscrew and clean without having to break the seal by taking out the mounting screws.
