Old vinyl rub rail

Replacing the 31 year old rub rail is on my 2008 list of things to do, but I just got some Interlux Perfection on the rail and,
short of scraping, it doesn't want to come off ( Ihave an email in to the Interlux tech help people). Any other solutions, and would something like Armoral or a paint improve the looks of the rail, at least for a few months?

Try Mother's Back to Black. Works great - I bought it at Pep Boys. I put it on and don't wipe it off, just let it soak in.

Lacquer thinner may do the trick on the spilled paint.

I too have had good results with Mother's Back to Black but prefer Meguiar's #40. It seems to clean better and last longer.

Re: Old vinyl rub rail

Just to finish this thread, thanks for the suggestions. Mother's sure puts a shine back on the rub rail, but doesn't touch the Perfection paint. Neither does the lacquer thinner. The local Pep Boys didn't have the Meguires 40, so I don't know what that might have done. Interlux's tech support emailed me and said I'd probably have to try and scrape the paint off.
