Rattle snake meets Horse
 

I get one or two of these every Summer. Usually the horse gets bit in the nose and their face swells so bad that their nostrils will close and then they cant breath. You have to suture tubes in their nasal canal and place the horse on steroids/antibiotics etc.. This pony was Ok by the next day and we removed the tubes. Just happened to have my camera on the truck as I was taking pictures of a friends boat earlier that day. :D

If you ever decide to relocate to Florida my sister would put you to work right away! :) She has 5 horses, 50 chickens, 8 dogs, 10 cats, ginny hens, geese, etc, etc. and no kids! You could set up shop on her 29 acre piece of property.
Same thing happened to Misty (The one Patti is on) several years ago. It is amazing what you guys do.....

Ken- Your Sis sounds like a typical client of mine. Some people just live for those animals. I don't know how they do it. I have one cat and thats it. I wouldn't mind having 50 boats however. That little pony in the pic was a hand full to work on. The only time I've ever been kicked in the head was by a little 12 hand Pony several years back. Reared up and came down with a front leg karate chop on my cranium. Come to think of it thats about when I started getting into the 4 boat theory

This story brings back many memories, as my dad was a vet back in central Kentucky. He did mostly large animal work (cattle, sheep, hogs) but had a few clients with thoroughbred race horses. He said most of those horses were pretty high strung and could be tough to work with; some of the stallions were downright mean, and many of the grooms up there were walking around with no thumbs! :eek: However, he said the worst part about working on the race horses was the horse people . . . said some of them were crazier than the horses!! :D Denny
