23 Seacraft Pricing
I have recently been searching to buy a used 23' Seacraft and have looked at a few and think I may have found one that will work. I perfer the tradition setup of an inboard with shaft and rudder and have found one that seems to be an original. It is a one owner boat that has not had any work done to it original stringers. It has replaced aluminum fuel tanks done in '89 when it was repowered with a new Ford 351 (has been raw water cooled with salt water/freshwater). The outside is in great shape and it has been recently awlgripped. It was used mostly on freshwater but it has seen quite a bit of salt water action. It has no electronics and no t-top. The asking price was 25,000 but the owner took our offer of 20,000. Is 20,000 a good price for a boat like this?

Re: 23 Seacraft Pricing
I forgot to mention it is a 1975 Potter built SF 23 Inboard (http://www.classicseacraft.com/SF23inboard.htm) and the engine has 200 hrs since it was recently rebuilt.
Hope someone can help, this might be a good deal but I am not an expert on Seacrafts. Thanks! |
Re: 23 Seacraft Pricing
I would have it surveyed. This is also what most insurance companies will use as a baseline. With that said, I would love to have one with a diesel!!

Re: 23 Seacraft Pricing
Sounds like too much IMO regardless of condition: older engine, no ttop , no elecs - nope.

Re: 23 Seacraft Pricing
Go through the for sale postings. Even go back 2 years, and I think you will find your the answer. This is not a riddle, but past posting's tell a real good story.

Re: 23 Seacraft Pricing
What exactly does "rebuilt" mean? In salt water risers and manifolds go. Does it have a carb or efi? Electronics depending on how crazy you go cost between $2000 at the absolute minumum to about $8000.00 if you go crazy. It sounds like they took your offer of 20k so you already own it. Good luck. I really like my Garmin 10" color gps with black box fishfinder. Also get yourelf a icom vhf and 8' antaenna. That will run you about 4000.00 installed.
