Cabin hatch

Looking for the main cabin hatch for a 1977 Seacraft Sceptre. Hoping maybe someone converted a Sceptre and I could purchase one or if there is a place where I could purchase a replica or used hatch. This is the hatch that covers the entry into the v-berth area. I am restoring the boat and it did not have a hatch.

Did you check the repair and modify section. Maybe there is someone who re-built one and has a how to do. Or just ask the guys on that sight. So real good glass men working over there.

try- thaiteakmarine.com- last year I was going to replace my cabin door- but decided to re-build what I had. I emailed this guy my pics and he gave me a price for the door.

I have a Tsunami w/ that hatch and I would recommend you find a SC around you and see if you can take a mold of his hatch. Then you can make your own.

Paying someone to make one is going to be $$$$.

It is a pretty specific design for the boat and needs to fit just right. Personally, I do not like the design; it's always awkward, it leaks into the cabin when I wash down the boat, and a b*tch to stow all the time.

I have seen guys use canvas there w/ snaps, I don't like the idea, but it would work.

You could make it out of wood too - or make a template out of wood and then make a fiberglass mold and go that route.

Either way - good luck.
