Location of Transom Transducer

Ok,

I have one thru hull ducer for my Raymarine DS600X, and one shoot thru ducer for my Garmin 178. To complete the mess I want to install a ducer for my Furuno 1850.

I am thinking of installing it on the transom.

Here is the deal. As you can see in the below pictures (please excuse the growth on the bracket. I just pulled the boat out of the slip afetr a long season and she needs a good pressure washer scrubbing) my full flotation bracket will prevent me from installing a transom mount on the bottom of the transom. The only place I can think of installing it is between the bracket and the starboard trim tab.

I understand that the tab may prevent the ducer from working well while the boat is under way. What else am I missing? Not that I have to say this, but don't be shy with your thoughts/opinions.

Thanks,

Peter
