Raising the transom

After backing down last week in the ocean, I am considering raising the transom from 25" to 30". The transom was recored with Coosa board, epoxy and 1808 cloth 2 years ago and shows no signs of any cracking or flex. I am a traditional (old) kind of guy and like the motor on the back of the boat. I'm interested in the fiberglass experts from this site's opinion of how to add the 5 inches of height. I have the coosa left over, from cutting out the motor cutout. My question is what layup schedule for the extra height and how to tie it in. I would plan on a horizontal stiffener across the transom that would form the new raised motor well. Don't shoot me but, I like the layout of the new 23 seacraft with the 30" transom and the floor flat all the way to the transom.
