Enclosing transom

I've been thinking about enclosing the transom on my 23'cc and adding a bracket. Currently it is a single outboard model. I want a full transom w/ a fish box/live well in it. Just curious to what a ball park cost is for such a project from those who have done it.

That's probably not too far off.

I would get some references from boats the guy has done. I saw a "professionally" done grady come apart in 2 years, and have to be redone, and he paid all the money, twice.

Re: Enclosing transom

I agree, that's probably a pretty close guess. I've done all the glasswork on my transom and I've spent a good bit. I've done a lot more work than just the transom so my total materials cost would be high. Right now I'm up to around $3,000 for materials. I had Don Herman build and mount my bracket and livewell. I've never done any of this stuff before so I've spent a lot more time than someone that has. I quit keeping track at about 300 hours three months ago.
