Non-Slip cockpit floor paint
 

I know this has been discussed, but wanted to update your opinions on cockpit floor paint.

I installed Cabella's Tuff Coat non-skid coating with recycled rubber. I used the proper roller and HATED how it went on and how it looked. We just spent 2 days scrapping with a 9' paint scrapper and a DA with 80 grit to get it back down to paintable.

I'd like to tint it a color, and don't like that 220 grit sandpaper feeling. Otherwise I'm open to suggestions and reccomendations.

Oh, yea, you have to be able to apply it at 15 degrees F (kidding)

Interlux Interdeck I used it on a Carolina Skiff a few years ago. You can add extra nonslip if you prefer. Was not hard on feet and stayed pretty clean. website is yachtpaint.com

I used Awlgrip with their griptex particles on my 23 and it has held up well. However I wish that I had used a darker color because it shows stains. On my 20 I had it Linexed and well see how that holds up. I really like the way it came out. When you gonna show us some pictures of that boat :cool:

I used the interlux stuff on my boat 2 years ago, and it looked good, but after 2 years of hard use, it needs to be done again.

I just got my deck painted. Per Capt. Chuck's recommendatin I used Tom Fabula's Signature Finish. As far as appearance and finish, I am very pleased. As I just painted this past weekend I can't personally speak for the durability, but Capt. Chuck did his over ten years ago (painted once since I think) and it still looks great. I went and met with Chuck before I did mine to check out his 23 SC. His still looks phenomenal. He said that every couple years after he gets enough nicks from dropping anchors, gaff's, etc. he'll touch up any nicks and such. I was impressed enough with his to use it on mine. The stuff is so easy to apply even if I do find that I'm having to fix dings more often, it's a piece of cake to touch up. I'd recommend looking into it.

Like Chuck I opted for Awlgrip with Griptex and it's easy on bare feet, but provides plenty of grip when wet.

Two seasons with kids, sand, equipment and a dog and it still looks great.

That looks really nice Dave. I like how you put it down nice and heavy. Did you roll it or sprinkle it?

I did a number of test panels and used the salt shaker method.

Very pretty work. If I used my boat for a just fishing I would consider it but as a dive boat I'd be to worried to mess it up with tanks, spears, weightbelts, etc. Let us know how it holds up. Looks fantastic.
