Fuel tank builders/prices

I need a new fuel tank, Young Boats got a price for me from his supplier of $455.00 is this reasonable?

Tank measures 12in high, 28in wide and 69in long, 1 1/2 in. filler and vent 10in back on center, motor supply on center with fitting facing to port.

I had my new tanks made by Tony Perez at Sunrise Marine Tanks in Sarasota, 941-926-8265, www.sunrisemarinetanks.com
I would highly recommend him. He was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. He was very infomative. I also think he is a third generation tank builder to.

In 2004, I had RDS Aluminum in Perry, FL, make a copy of my original 27 gallon tank from my '72 Seafari, but with internal baffles added in. It included sensor, fittings, flanges, and double grounding strap connections. Total cost was $197. Aluminum prices are WAY up, though, from 4 years ago.

Figure on between $13.50 and $18.00 per gallon for a custom/duplicate tank today, not including shipping your old tank to them, and shipping your new tank back to you. But Perry is only 2 hours up the road from Inglis, so you could save a lot of money that way.

Another way to save a little money is to buy a "standard" size tank that will fit into your existing space, such as the RDS tanks at West Marine, or

I am the "NUT" that spent $950 for a stainless steel tank. More weight but I do not intend on going under the floor again anytime soon.

Does seem like a good price. I just purchased a replacement tank for my 1970 SF 20 (the under the console tank). Bsically 40 gals and it cost $440. I had gotten 3 estimates and they were all close. ACW

I also used Tony at Sunrise. Quality work. I believe I paid about $550.00 for 100 gallon tank. I pained it with epoxy coating myself. Would recommend.
