Seafari 20 Galley Seat
Just saw Bigshrimpin's Seafari on Strick's post. Very cool. Are those galley seats available anywhere? Anyone have one they'll part with. I might even fabricate one if I could get some good pics and dimensions. Can you help Big??? Thanks. -- Gillie

Re: Seafari 20 Galley Seat
Gillie - the galley seat is another Moesly invention - very clever design; fits the boat perfectly. I got one from 73Seafari who was looking for conventional pedestal, so we sort of swapped. Maybe you can find someone else on the forum that doesn't want theirs. I believe they may have been standard on the I/O models. The early ones only had 1 panel, hinged at rear with the seat on it, that opens up to form a table supported by seat. Later ones like the 73 model have a 2nd smaller panel hinged at front that unfolds forward and rests on a teak support on the bulkhead; has a small 1 Burner stove that fits down into the sink when folded up. The box appears to be a chopper gun layup, about 5/32" thick. If I was going to build one, I'd design a bigger sink that would accommodate a 2 burner stove; Potter designed one like that for the 23 Scepter. I believe there's a picture of it in the 73 brochure in Literature section. I have some e-mails with dimensions and photos that I'll forward to you. Denny

Re: Seafari 20 Galley Seat
Thanks a million Denny, Those fotos and dimensions are perfect, I should be able to get close based on that great info. I even found a little chrome coleman just the one in the picture, but if I go that route I may take your advice and go with a double burner. Sear the ahi and steam the rice at the same time -- I can taste it now... My thanks to Dion, too. -- McGill...

Re: Seafari 20 Galley Seat
Gillie - The 2 burner stove/galley seat is shown in 1979 brochure in a Scepter. Where did you find the original type 1 burner stove? Do you have a model No. for it or know who might carry it? The one that came with seat is badly rusted, and I'd like to replace it. Denny
