1987 23 Seacraft

What should I know about the 1987 23 Seacraft I'm interested in? Does it have a wood hull or is it composite/fiberglass? What should I look for and ask about? I'm really a novice to the classic boats. Thanks.

Also, is $3500-$4000 an average price to enclose a transom and locate the motor on a bracket?

IMO that price would be a steal. The bracket alone can be up to $3k.

If you type in 1987 under the search, you should be able to find what you are looking for. For any older boat, check out the transom and deck for soft spots & moisture.

Thanks, I did find some good info - looks like foam filled fiberglass stringers.
If I enclose the transom will it still be self bailing or would the deck need to be raised? I plan on keeping it out of the water so maybe that isn't a big issue?
