AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH / 1979 23SF Parked At My Dock

I can relate waiting 2 1/2 yrs splashing my boat today to passing a kidney stone. The good news........The original transom is solid (prior power was a jackshafted diesel, so the outdrive didn't tear it up) One of the 225's isn't ready yet(the water pump was weak and it wasn't firing on all cylinders). The great part about being overpowered.........I was doing 40 on one motor :o :o. Still needs a bimini or break-away t-top and a few other items. Many thanks to Briguy, Eggsuckindog, and especially Ken McGovern (Fellowship)AKA Tabman II who covered my Bennett trim tabs pump under warranty-Best customer service anywhere!!! Pix to follow asap

water piumps are weak on them anyway, they dodn't pee like rudes - I never see above 10lbs and usually about 6, get it running first unless the horn goes off - which you might check it works on both

ESD-I may have a blockage only in the indicator stream for the water pump. My oil resevior on the block is 1/2 full and may have caused the ECM to go into safe mode, not allowing all cylinders to fire??

Have never had one go safe mode- the oil is a pressure system and Mike replaced my whole hose system on mine so I have had no problems - he will ship parts to you at below local dealer prices on stuff like that. He will at least answer some questions you have in that case too - 727 938 9796 and tell him I said to call,I'll mention it also - if you make a list of stuff you need and have him ship it he will help you on the phone with stuff ;)

Not sure what Jason (Merc guy) saw that was iffy on mine but said it needed to go - I never doubt them, thats why it hasn't ever been back in 2 yrs I guess :D

Make sure the cap is tight and sealed good, mine will pump oil all over the place quick when I took it off to check an alarm ( was the water in the fuel alarm)

Dixon-
Thanks for the phone# and the heads-up. My old gas was just pumped out of those tanks. So, there may be garbage ib the carbs. I have old oil in the oil tanks, so the oil may have gotten gummed-up. The caps are all tight and the hoses look good!!?? :D

regarding engine pissing, I love my Yamaha's overall as an engine.

However, in seeing Dixon's comment I have to agree. i have seen no other engine piss like a Johnson.

Years ago I had a 1975 175HP Ocean Runner that pissed like a firehose. If I twisted the pee hole upwards, the engine pissed like a jet ski.
