70's 25' Seacrafts
Looking for info on 70's or 80's? 25 foot seacrafts. Does this model exist and if so in what variations? Also, would it be a Potter hull? Thanks much, Steve

Re: 70's 25' Seacrafts
I recently saw what was listed as a 25 Center Console on the cape. The pics look very much like the 25 Seafari's hull, only it had a pilot house style console. It was hard to tell from the pics . . . does anyone know if there was ever a 25CC that was made? Could also be a modified seafari 25.

Re: 70's 25' Seacrafts
Thanks for the info. I spoke with the owner today from the craigslist add. It was a cabin model that was modified in 2000. Twin 55 gal tanks, side tuna door, 454 and bravo 3, doghouse, tuna rod holders, etc... sounds like a pretty solid rig.

Hey Big S;
Isn't Strict's "Magic Ship" a 25' Seafari? You know the he hopefully will grace us with in reprise of his AMAZING Recon skills! |
Re: 70's 25' Seacrafts
The 25 was done in only cabin model with twin I/O's inline 6's = not enough power but all they had back then.

The Royal Bahamian Defence Force has a 1970 27' SeaMaster that was repowered in early '95with twin outboards, transom mounted. The transom was entirely rebuilt to hang twin 30" outboards, no bracket. It was first repowered back in '94 with twin 25" shaft 275 hp 3.4L V6 Mercs with extension kits, it was later repowered with twin 30" 300hp HPDI Yamahas, I think in '02. I have no information on the performance with the Yamahas, but with the twin Mercs it ran about 39-40 knots. I know they got their original 3.4L Mercs off of my 34' Scarab Raider after I bought it from the US Customs service at auction in '94, when I lived at Compass Point on New Providence Island. |
