value of a 20sf

A guy down the road from me has a 20' SF he states is a 1978. I have looked the boat over and it is in good shape, one soft spot on the forward hatch. Transom is fine. It has a late 80's yamaha 115 that is not running (submerged) good for parts. And a decent galvanized roll on trailer. Boat has not seen water in a couple years. No word on fuel tank. I would guess that rig couldnt be worth more than three grand, any thoughts? I paid less than that for mine seven years ago, in smilar condition. I'll try for some pics but i make no promise

My first question would be that if the motor was submerged then was the boat ever submerged as well?

No the entire boat did not go down, about half way up the engine. And not only did the owner state that, the marina where it was docked stated the same.
