through deck/ hull drains

I have the deck drains that go straight through the deck and floor on my Seafari. I am in the process of a resto and was wondering the easiest way to make the cockpit drain out of the transom instead of through the deck/hull. I don't have any rot in the drain areas or the wood blocks around the current drains but would rather have a true self bailing cockpit without having to raise deck etc. It appears I could just put in a 90 degree fitting of some sort, and run a pipe to some thru transom scuppers. Any ideas on modification etc??
