Nice hardtop - quality fabrication, nice lines...
Ouzo - had a bottle of Ouzo 12 back when I was in the Merchant Marine in Pireaus, Greece in 1984. Anyone know what else is in Ouzo 12?

Very Nice! I had to give my Seafari away during the move off Nantucket, and now that I've started running up to Stellwagen (got my first- 56" tuna last weds!) I'm thinking of finding another Seafari and doing it up like the Ouzo. Great looking boat and top.

Looks great!!!
Is that a life raft I see on top?
Also, does that make the boat any more tippy? How has it effected the center of gravity and balance? Mine has always had a top, and I wonder sometimes what difference it would make without it. The balance seems just a tad bow heavy, what does your seem like?

I think only the Ouzo makes the Skipper Tippy :D

Very nice CSN. Have you swapped out the seating permanently or just for tournaments and when the fishing is wide open. My understanding is you guys can take sport-caught fish to market... Is that the incentive/case??? Thanks for getting those pics up. --McGill

Nick,

Yes, what's the other hull I saw in your driveway when I drove by the other day? You breeding them?

wow! I really like that! Thanks !! how is the overhead clearance? to stand and run it? I'm short (5'10") so a little low on the clearance is not a problem. How does all the overhead affect the center of gravity? I wouldn't think it would have much affect once on plane and running, but does it feel excessively "rolly" when trolling?

Thanks guys for the compliments! As i sip some OUZO, i will answer your questions;

- What's in OUZO, just Google it to find out. The important part is it is cheaper to run for mpg than gasoline.

- Rockdoc, where are the pis of the 56" tuna? Nice fish!

- 2 years ago i purchased the lightest quality liferaft i could find, Winslow Ultra-Light Offshore raft 4-person Model 40ULO. It is approx 40lbs inside a hardcase in a cradle. I tend not to put it on the HardTop because on quartering seas it tends to twist the top during heavy seas. I usually put a survival suit inside and throw the raft in the cabin. The balance seems fine, sure the CG has changed but all seems slight. Maybe others can explain why, but these boats do not want to tip or roll, is it all in the shallow deadrise? The top clearance is ~6'3".

- No more pedstal's for me. Too many lard arses torquing pedstals out of the floor. These cooler setup work nice for me and needed cooler space when comm fishing.

There are tradeoffs with a hardtop, but from what i experience they are slight compared to the gains.

Re: CSICKNICK's Seafari Hardtop pics

What a surprise it was for me to find out after the fact that Ouzo 12 was Opiated... it didn't make me c sick nick but it made me very incoherent. I left my Canon AE-1 and my Passport foolishly at the desk of a hotel I checked into in Glyfada, Greece. After about 15 minutes I remembered... I walked downstairs to pick them up to discover the reality of how desk clerks can conveniently speak and understand absolutely no English as if they drank more than I did. At least I got my Passport back...
