Great job, looks beautiful. What type of paint did you use?,and did you spray it?.
I plan on painting my Tsunami, and will be using a two part urethane.Just haven't decided on which one. |
Re: 18 sf New Paint
John,
I used a barrier primer on the bottom, then painted the bottom with pettit vivid white, the top coat was painted with alwgrip the primer was the 545 then I painted with awlgrip seafoam green. I sprayed the whole job. |

Re: 18 sf New Paint
SeaFoam looks the very best !
Very, very clean looking... if I was to repaint, it would be my first choice of color... |
Re: 18 sf New Paint
Looks smooth wait until you get the rubrail on that makes the difference. Did you spray it with an HVLP gun or something else?

Re: 18 sf New Paint
Beeyoutifull ;)
Where did you spray it if you don't mind me asking? I have been pondering building some kind of tent out of pipes and tarps to spray mine because the garage is off-limits. -Muddy |
Re: 18 sf New Paint
Yes I sprayed it with 2 different HVLP guns the bottom I painted with a bottom feed gun the top I painted with a gravity feed gun. I sprayed the entire boat at my house with the final top coat I sprayed in a shop where my brother-in-law works, his boss was kind enough to let us use his shop. If I didn't spray it inside this time of year all the bugs would have been attracted to the wet paint. Here are more pictures of the boat with the rub rail.
