Sleeping on a 20 SF
Once in a while I am jealous of you Seafari owners and was just wondering if anyone has ever setup a 20 SF for overnighting. Perhaps, fabricating a collapsable extension for the forward deck.
Any Ideas? |
Re: Sleeping on a 20 SF
I did some nights at honeymoon harbor with an air mattress and a bow dodger. This was my formula for overnighting in the bahamas -- fish & dive hard + drink a bunch of beer + stay up late = good sleeping on a 20'.

My preliminary idea is fabricating something to extend the foredeck to the console seat that could be folded up and somewhat out of the way during the day. Was just wondering if anyone had ever attempted something similar or if the forum had other ideas or experiences. Thanks! |
Re: Sleeping on a 20 SF
A good spray dodger that comes back to the console can work. I've seen one on a 20' Wellcraft Fisherman that also had a clear rainscreen/windshield that fastened from the back of the dodger to the front of the T-top. The console was set back, and he had 7 feet from the console to the anchor locker. He slept on the deck with an inflatable full-sized mattress, with his wife and 2 small kids back then, although the kids are teens now.

Re: Sleeping on a 20 SF
I think you can definitely camp out on a 20sf. It'd be pretty easy to add a leg support type extension to the front deck.
Seafari's are really nice to sleep in :) |

Hey Grove Guy
Heres something from the 73 brochure, but it looks like you already have a bimini and bowdodger check out fourth picture from bottom http://classicseacraft.com/brochures...ure/index.html also saw an interesting hard molded short cuddy on a whaler on continuous wave site. I'll post it if I can find it... |
