Re: seafari25 pics
Great pix of a beautiful (and rare) boat. Just an FYI that your pix are posted in your signature, so every time you make a post they will show up. Not a big deal, but it makes your posts much larger than they need to be.

Re: seafari25 pics
Beautiful boat. Was it kept that nice its entire life?

Re: seafari25 pics
thanks askipper3,
in the early days, my grandfather used the boat for his salmon charter business on lake ontario and fished her pretty much every day and although i was very young then, i know that he looked after her like one of his children. in the late 80s his health started to decline, the business was shut down and the boat was moved to our cottage on georgian bay where she was used only periodically by my parents, aunts and uncles and i. it was around then when she started to go downhill. most of the 90s she didn't even get wet and sat blocked up and covered until i figured it was time to fire her up again before the motor siezed. i did and once i knew she was running properly i figured i would slowly clean her up and get her looking new again. i mostly wanted to fix her up for my grandfather to get out in it at least one more time, which he did but also because there's nothing that makes me smile more than being at the helm. i don't quite know what it is. anyway getting back to your question, i keep 2 of my boats in saltwater(nova scotia) and i know how the saltwater is hard on boats but the fact that this boat has seen fresh water half of her life and no water the other half, i think, has kept her in decent condition and easy to clean up from year to year. everytime i take her out, she is thoroughly cleaned afterwards and as long as she is under my care, which she will be 'till the day i die, it will be no different. as i mentioned, she is like a member of my family |
