I just bought a 1977 23' Seacraft IB with a fuel injected mercruiser 350. I was glad to see this site with all of the information about these boats available.

I will be doing a make over of the boat and might need some input.

I look forward to interacting with all of you!

Michael,

Welcome to the site, I have the same boat with the same power let me know if I can help. Don't forget to post pictures as you go through your re-build.

Riprunner:

I appreciate it very much. I am glad to say that, mechanically, the boat is sound. Asthetically, however, is another issue.

I will be repainting the whole boat (after repairing some spiderwebbing gelcoat), as well as replacing the T-top with a FG hard top. I have a NavNet to install and some rod holders and riggers to put in, but that is it.

Luckily, the only soft patches I have found are on small hatches.

I will post some before pictures for you to see.

I might go offshore tomorrow afternoon. I will report anything exciting.
