20 floor project

Hello,
Im starting the work on my 20 floor.
My question is when I cut out the floor do I cut as close as I can to the liner.
In the photos of the rebuilds it looks like guys leave some of the floor.
Will I lose any strength if I cut real close.
What is the best tool for the job a saw zaw.

Thanks guys

Re: 20 floor project

I would leave about an inch and a half . Circular saw is the fastest and the set back from the side to the blade is an inch and a half. set the blade for cutting a little less than a inch and it should cut right through. If you cut the flange too cloose or cut it off , the liner is going to become flimsy and a huge pain in the ass to work with.
