Non DSC VHF
Hey Rich, is it possible to find a radio without the dsc feature? I'm in my new radio every three years mode and don't want a radio with too many whistles and bells.
I loved my Icom M45. |
Re: Non DSC VHF
I think it's against federal law not to have DSC built in. Maybe you can find one on ebay pre 1998-99. From my understanding there was a law passed in 1998 requiring all new VHF models to have DSC built in.

Here you go Finny! IC-M45

Re: Non DSC VHF
It appears that all the fixed mount VHF will have the DSC built in. It looks like you can get hand held VHF units that do not have it..

Re: Non DSC VHF
If you want to stick with the Icom, which is a good choice, they have two models that are similar dimensions as the IC-M45. The current models are the IC-M422 and IC-M304.
