Smart tabs on Seafari

Anyone have experience with smart tab trim tabs....I am looking into getting trim tabs for my seafari and just wondering if these work...or if they are a waste of money.
Thanks, Fred

Hi Fred,
My one of my fishing partners put some on his mid-'80s pro-line 21 wac (tank of a hull for a 20-21) and although I have limited run time on it, it does appear to reduce his mpg even though he planes quicker. I'm not sold on them but the price and simplicity are certainly right. I'm not sold on their ability to do what you'd like to as far as managing your trim in a mixed-up sea or flat out snotty conditions... great question though. Be interesting to hear from the engineering wizards... look out! here comes team Bennett :D

Interesting point WTG. When you're backing up with hydraulics units you trim up and you're golden - not possible with the Nauticus units.

Fred, there is a company called Boat Levelers, who I believe originated the concept. They are quite a bit less expensive than Bennett or Lenco. I know your wife cut, nay, reduced your boat spending so you might look into those.

No Bones had suggested looking on ebay for reduced prices and indeed some are close to half price. I found some on CL also, brand new set for $250... My wife said. NO! :D

I think what it comes down to is how much control you want to have, and how much you want to spend on tabs. Although I don't have first hand experience of the smart tabs from Nauticus, I have researched them on the web and can't find to many complaints. Installation is easy, cost is less but you do give up the ability of full control.

I've had the Bennet M120 sport tabs on my 20 and they work exactly as expected and you get full control.

Bennet has awesome customer service, I have heard the same about Nauticus.

Once you make a decision, let me know and if you would like I can price something out for you as we carry the full lines of Bennet, Lenco, Nauticus, and Boat leveler tabs..

Hi fdheld34;

I know I am predigest but buying smart tabs in not a smart move.

You can go to E-bay type in Bennett trim tabs on the first page there is a kit of 12x12 with the euro rocker for $459.99. Now those are a smart tab and a good decision. Again I am predigest.

"No Bones had suggested looking on ebay for reduced prices..."

My apologies, I think it was Fellow-ship, not No Bones that suggested the online shopping for the Bennetts...
