70 seafari I/O new owner

new member! i have enjoyed reading all the topics you guys discuss but none concerned me. until today, just purchased a rough one and need help. transom on port side is soft, real soft! otherwise intregrity is there on remainder. have yet to seatrial so dont know if motor mounts are strong. CAN I INJECT THE TRANSOM TO GET LIFE?so i dont have to change drive. IS THERE A MARKET FOR USED INBOARDS AND OUTDRIVES? HOW DO YOU INTEGRATE STRINGERS TO TAKE A BRACKET FOR OUTBOARD? Thanks for any knowledge.

Lots of re-do's on this site. Probably the best and most commented on is "Here we go again" by Chuck Strickland. Awesome work and really well documented total rebuild of a 20' CC, not a Seafari though. Still worth the readSSS to get all of it. From there, take your pick, start some searches and open up the time frame of your searches; the boats have been around a while, haven't changed much and many have been rebuilt and a good %age of those have been damn fine work!

Don't hesitate to ask questions. Many on here have forgotten more than most of us will ever know, but somehow I believe they will remember and share that knbowledge if asked. Get a list of questions, do some homework, get a digital camera, learn how to post your pic's and have at it! You are about to make a whole bunch of new friends.

PS. Welcome aboard.

There is always a market for this stuff. If you sell it part by part you will earn more $$. If you sell as a package and price it right on Craigslist it will be gone in a day or two.
