hynautic steering question

launched boat today...helm spins free, no steering at all. Does this sound like a steering fluid issue? I know jack about steering systems.

thx

What kind of steering? Hynautic or Sea Star?

Re: hynautic steering question

I would look for a leak, at the helm, or at the cylinder on the motor. If it is an original hynautic, the resevior has a site bubble that you can see the fluid level, and most have a pressure gauge on top. Even if there is no pressure, if the system has fluid in it, it will still turn.

If you need a cylindar on the back, and it is a splash well, not a center link, I have an almost new one.
