$821.00 Turn Key Tsunami !!

Probably the worst thing about being a SeaCraft nut and living in California is the lack of SeaCrafts and worse yet the lack of people to talk to about them. There just are none around. In fact very few people even know what a SeaCraft is up here in N. California. When you mention to someone that you own a seacraft they just nod their head pretending to know what one is and then they start talking about their fathers SeaSwirl Striper or some other west coast built boat. It's hard listening to other fisherman talk about how great their 40K Tin boat is and how wonderful their sleek new 65K 23 foot fiberglass boat that rides like crap in a chop is when you own a seacraft. So you can imagine how delighted I was and still am for that matter when I recently purchased 1973 23 Tsunami in good condition on E-bay. FOR $821.00 !!

The boat has a 327 chevy with the old OMC electric shift out drive.

There is Bill and Buck getting her running. Bill is my partner in the boat. The motor runs surprisingly good and the out drive as well. We changed all the fluids in the out drive.

we pulled the tank and it's in great shape. So all we had to do was change out the hoses and clean the tank.

No leaks

Name has to go. I filled about 20 small screw holes on the transom already.

Up on plane!

we ran the boat for about 4 minutes until we smelled oil burning. Valve cover gasket was leaking so we eased her back to the ramp.

The plan is to spend as little money as possible...while getting it in good running condition and use it till we blow up something (which may not be long) at which point I have yamaha 250 efi in my shop that that she will accept on a bracket. For now we will just enjoy fishing and cruising in an old classic Seacraft!

I would not have paid a dime more than $800.00 for it. Did you even try talking the guy down? :D

He He you guys are funny.....I have Bigshrimpin to thank/blame for being the first in alerting me about the e-bay listing. Then Mcgillicuddy sent me a PM about it as well. Since I had never bid on an e bay listing I had no clue how to go about it so I consulted E-bay and Craiges List Pro staffer "Bigshrimpin" who coached me through the whole process. The last 5 minutes was very exilerating and my knees were shaking as I watched the computer go crazy those last few seconds. Some poor bastard in Florida lost out on a nice boat...all he had to do was bid a little more. But it would have cost three time the sale price to have it shipped there...I know the position he was in... been there before.

Hermco- while we were cleaning out the boat we found about $21.00 in small change so I think we are right at the $800.00 mark as we speak :D

Gill- It really is a nice solid boat. We are going to do more cleaning/polishing. so far all we have had to do was put in 2 new batteries and and electric fuel pump. We put some points and a new condenser on the engine as well. I got in touch with the previous owner who had donated this boat to the auction company and he told us that the rebuilt engine has about 10 hours on it...it really does purr like a kitten.

PS Biglew eat your heart out! ;)
