Best Non-SeaCraft VDH Line of Boats-SilverHawk

Since our inside connection at SilverHawk (Pipedreamsmarine)has offered zero info on these models since the 1/08 thread.......I checked out their web site and found the 27 and 30, with other models coming soon. The beams are 8'6" on the 27 and 8'10" on the 30. Definately not an exact plug from Carl's 27/Potter27/CSY27, but the 30 looks sweet and may have some of it's bloodline. The beam is a foot less.

Here is the link to their web site SilverHawk Boats

Don-What is the scoop?

The scoop is the same all over the boat market. 0 sales = boats built. Silverhawk is refining their shop and molds waiting for the market to pick up. The owners are fishing the 30 in a few touraments and pushing to sell boats. Most of the major lenders are putting the brakes on floor planning so its hard for the dealers to buy boats.

The 30 is differant in the beam then Moesly/Potter 27. The 30 is a stretched 27. They added 2 feet just aft of the console. Its a real pretty boat and is very quick with the twin 300 Merc's on the back. The hull is extactly the same as 23. the bracket is the same shape as the hull just with less return on the back to help handle the weight and power.

All in all its a really nice boat. Plans for a jack shaft diesel and cutty version are still in the works, just need to sell a few boats...

They are working a few small boat projects and the work looks great. They redo a few boats a year to help keep the guys in the shop around.

Hey Don, did you get your fiberglass arranged from Fla to NJ? Part II.

Hmmmm.......No SC 27 connection! In your post from 1/08 you mentioned that the freeboard was increased from the 25 (which is not on the web site currently) for the 27. So the 27 and up to the future 36, will be based ultimately on the widened 8'10" beam from the original SC23, right?

Those are solid boats! Hopefully SilverHawk keeps everything rolling with the weak market. Thanks for the info Don!

Not yet. Is your option still open?

The 27 took the place of the 25. The 36 is going to be a different hull, not a VDH as it stands right now, But you never know with those two guys they could be cutting a couple 30's up right now.

Are the inboard models going to be straight shaft with a prop pocket like the SC 23?
