1979 Savage value?

I have a 1979 Savage, I am thinking about selling. I would be selling the hull and trailer only. There is a soft spot in the deck next to the console and some of the lids in the cuddy need to be replaced. The paint looks good. There is a thru hull live well and a fresh water wash down tank. The boat is rigged for mercury outboard, every thing is there someone would just need to mount a mercury outboard. There is a nice transom bracket with swim deck and mount for auxiliary motor as well. The trailer is a 2003 magic tilt with brakes and wash down system. The trailer is in great shape and cost about @3500 new. I am not sure what the value would be at this time. I would like any input on a good asking price. I may sell the hull and trailer separetely, so please break it down that way. Thanks for the help! John

Re: 1979 Savage value?

NADA for the hull is $1610 to $1780. In contrast, my 2007 BUC book says $6710 to $7650 for the hull, depending on options. For instance, your original optional pulpit rail is worth $530 when added to the hull. Even though most of the Savage models had the rail, it was an option, and many have lost the rail over the years. Likewise, Sceptre/Tsunami conversions lack the rail.

Remember, though, that 2007 BUC price is BEFORE the bottom fell out of the boat market. In Florida, older used boat prices are running 30% to 50% below what they were just 3 years ago.

I'd say, about 4-5 grand as it sits.

Thanks for the input! Don, are you talking hull or hull and trailer? Thanks again. John
