23 center console w/300 Suzuki

I am getting excited as I made the big step to take the older 2 stroke twins off and go for the 300 suzuki four stroke. I had 225's before and the elimination of 300 pounds off the transom will be a welcome addition. Should be nice has the fly by wire features and it turns a huge 16 inch diameter wheel. Curious to see what everyone thinks the cruise/mpg and top end speeds will be. Any guesses. Boat has no bottom paint and no t -top.

I am guessing top speed is 49mph, and fuel consumption at 30 is 2.3 mpg, let the wagering begin lol.

Super deals on the 300 with 6 year extended warranty thrown in. They are cutting back production in 09-10 so the prices can come back up.

I'll bet top speed could touch 50 without a T-Top, 30 - 35 mph cruise 2.5 - 2.8mpg depending on conditions.

Today was seatrial day and with 2 people 60 gallons of fuel cruise speed was 31 with a 9 gph which comes out to a little over 3 mpg Top speed was 51 (6000 rpm)turning a 16 by 18.5 inch stainlees three blade. Dealer claims should pickup more mpg and speed once the engine breaks in. So nice to walk in the back and not have water come in the scuppers like the twins did. Digital gauges are neat and the fly by wire is refinitely a new experience. Will play more with it this weekend to learn the new digital gauges.

That is awesome performance. 3 mpg @ cruise AND a 51 mph WOT - That is outstanding!! Only 9 gph at a 31 cruise WOW.

Makes me want to get a 300 Zuki!

2.08 ratio
6000 rpm
18.5 pitch prop

would give you a top end of 46mph with 10% slip or 48mph with 5% slip. Doesn't Rev Limiter kick in at 6100 or 6300? It's tough to look down when you're moving that speed!! but GPS doesn't lie . . . so you are probably hitting 6300.

Those are the numbers the rigger/dealer gave me on their two test runs via the Suzuki speedo. I will be playing this weekend and see what the performance is. All electronics out of boat so I will look for a handheld gps to give me some true indicators. I would think if it was up against the rev limiter they would bump up to a 20.5 inch wheel to get the revs down
