Price opinion on a 1974 20 SF

I'm brand new to this site and this is my first post. This weekend I'm going up to Conn. to look at a 74' 20SF; from the pics and speaking to the owner the boat seems to be in real nice shape, yellow hull, no power and no trailer. Asking price is $3500. It is listed on Boats.com.

What do you think a reasonable offer would be assuming the boat is in good shape? (ie solid deck and transom)

It has hydraulic steering and Yamaha controls/gauges; what size power is good for this hull? I was thinking maybe a 115 up to a 150??

The 2nd boat I'm looking at is a 74' 20SF, red hull, 89' Trailer, 98' 225hp Evinrude. This boat is showing its age and needs some TLC. It has one soft spot just forward of the CC.
Asking price is $3900

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This site seems to be loaded with info and I look forward to being part of it.

In 1988 my first boat was a 1977 Seafari, I've always loved the lines on the older models and can't wait to own one again.

Tight Lines,
John
